The Chase star Mark Labbett, 55, has opened up on his career ambitions and hopes of hosting his own quiz show. Speaking to Dean Dunham on his Celebrity Consumer podcast, the quizzer spoke about his future ambitions, namely to follow in his colleagues’ footsteps and have a series of his own.
When asked what plans he has for TV work in the future, the star candidly opened up on a future goal.
He said: “My agent is trying to get me some work.
“I’d love to host my own quiz show, like Anne’s got one and Paul’s got one – I hope it’s my turn at some point.”
Additionally, the podcast host continued to quiz the Chaser on rumours that he’d appear on Channel 4 favourite, Celebs Go Dating, following his split from wife Katie last year.
“I will consider anything if the fee’s good enough, I’m a complete mercenary,” Mark quipped.
In 2018 Anne landed herself her own quiz show, Britain’s Brightest Family.
The show sees 16 families from across the country compete in a knock-out tournament to win a holiday of a lifetime.
The quiz tests their knowledge on general knowledge, problem-solving and literacy as well as how well they know each other.
Speaking to Express.co.uk ahead of the return of Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family, Anne gave an update about her co-star’s health and confirmed his future in the show.
She said: “He wasn’t very well, he is a lot better now and he is looking forward to getting back to work.
“He was happy to get back to work as soon as possible, but the specialist was saying, ‘No you do need a few weeks off’.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Mark revealed to podcast host Dean the Chaser he wouldn’t want to come up against.
