Food recalls are only issued when a problem arises with a food product. Those who have been shopping in Sainsbury’s have been urged to check for a Plant Pioneers product.
The Shroomdogs packs which should be avoided are also 300 grams.
Sainsbury’s apologised to customers and explained the food items can be returned to stores.
A statement from Sainsbury’s said: “It has been brought to our attention that some packs of the above date codes of this product contain pieces of metal.
“We are asking customers who have purchased this product not to eat it and to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store for a full refund when they next visit for groceries and other essentials.
“For any concerns or queries or if you are vulnerable, shielding or otherwise unable to return the product to store then please check our website Sainsburys.co.uk/helpcontact our careline on 0800 636262.
“No other products have been affected by this issue.
“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”
The recall affects products sold in Scotland, England and Wales only.
The supermarket chain explained some of the snacks could contain sulphur dioxide which is not mentioned on the label.
This was due to a packaging mix up which means some packs were filled with Tesco Finest Festive Fruit and Nut Selection.
A Tesco statement said: “If you suffer from sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites, please don’t eat this product.
“Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
